You can take it out of your computer, replace it, and put in another one if you want. The speaker port is usually (but not always) green. The most common volume setting for Shakti for this kind of sound device is 25% for men, and 16% for women. Actually, it's not a card at all. It's built into the motherboard, and cannot be removed or replaced. Usually, these are not quite as good as 'true' sound cards. The speaker port is usually (but not always) green. The most common volume setting for Shakti for this kind of sound device is 25% for men, and 16% for women. AUTO SET VOLUME UTILITIES Women Using Onboard sound devices Men using Onboard sound devices USB SOUND DEVICES   Warning. Some USB ports on some computers can mix the left and right stereo channels. This will disturb several session designs, including those with alternating signals and those with more than one phase. If you are using a USB sound device, you should check your left and right stereo channels to be sure that the left stereo channel feeds only to the left coils, and the right stereo channel feeds only the right coils. A selection of Cheap USB Sound Devices. These are often called "No-Name" brands, even though they have 'device names' that windows will recognize. These get a volume setting of 85% for men, and 55% for women. For this kind of device, set your volume to 50% for men, and 32% for women. It has a cord that plugs in to the wall for it's power, and another cord that plugs into the computer. In general, these are very good sound devices and are the most appropriate way to connect Shakti to a laptop computer. If you have a device of this type, then you should set the volume to 25% for men and 16% for women. There are many kinds of laptop sound devices, so it's harder to give the kind of general settings that apply to desktop computers. Most laptops get a setting of 50% for men, and 32% for women.
