Limbic Workout Session

This session is approximately 45 minutes.

It uses seven signals.

There is a 90 second silent gap between each phase, for a total of 13 phases.

1) The modulated 40 Hz "Chirp" signal begins the session, activating the cortex in a way that alters the brain's 'binding factor', a feature of brain activity that binds us into a set of states of consciousness, reinforcing habits that prevent our accessing higher or deeper states of consciouness.

2) The caudate Nucleus Signal targets the caudate nucleus, the limbic structure with the highest thresholds (making it the least sensitive) of any in this session.

3) The Fibbonaci Signal This is applied prior to the hippocampal signal, due to it's ability (determined in laboratory research) to sensitize the brain to hippocampal activation.

4) The slow Hippocampus Signal Is used to prepare the hippocampus for the next signal.

5) The Standard speed Hippocampus Signal is derived from a common hippocampal function, memory consolidation. The hippocampus is more sensitive than the caudate nucleus, but less sensitive than the amygdala signal, which follows it.

6) The Amygdala Signal (with shorter latency) targets the amygdala, the most sensitive structure in the brain, and the one which is most implicated in spiritual experience overall.

7) The standard Amygdala Signal has been found in laboratory studies to elicit altered states more readily than the other signals.

Applying these signals, and in this order, moves the stimulation from one structure to the next so that the least sensitive structures are stilulated forst, and the more sensitive ones after. The idea is to give your limbic system a workout that includes the most important componants, and in the order most likely to let each signal benefit from the activity of the one that came before it. It's designed so that the brain experiences a novel stimulation every few minutes to avoid habituating to any of them. The result can be a burst of response each time the signals change.

This is a many phase session applying the various signals for five minutes each.

In beginning to use this session design, you should start off using it over the frontal (first choice for most people) or the temporal lobes (second choice for most people).

NOTE: USE THIS SESSION ONLY OVER BOTH SIDES OF YOUR HEAD. DO NOT USE OVER ONLY ONE SIDE.
