Spiritual Brain Technology Using Moving Magnetic Signals.
The 8 Coil Shakti is for:
Creating Intense and unique altered states of consciousness Details
Enhancing Meditation (as well as other mind machines) Details
Mood enhancement Details
Meditation Enhancement, Out Of Body Experiences, Visions, Altered States, Lucid Dreaming, Visual Enhancements, mood enhancements, and other effects have been reported from this technology.
The 8 Coil Shakti has session designs to facilitate: Out-of-body experiences ~ Lucid Dreaming ~ Bliss and other positive feelings ~ Remote viewing ~ And More.
Shakti uses magnetic fields with signals embedded in them for consciousness exploration, spiritual growth, mood enhancements, altered-state experience, and learning brain structure and function. Shakti connects to your PC computer, which controls it’s output.
Your brain produces electrical signals as it operates, and the 8 Coil Shakti applies magnetic signals that mimic them to your head. Because some brain parts have known brain wave ‘signatures’, they can be ‘targeted’ by applying their signatures as magnetic signals. Just as the brain has specific responses to specific chemicals, it also has specific responses to specific magnetic signals. Shakti uses ordinary magnetic fields, not EMF emissions.
The 8 Coil Shakti headset applies magnetic signals, moving between two sets of magnetic coils, for altered states of consciousness, mood enhancements and improvements to meditation and other spiritual practices.
Alternating the signals (between the two stereo channels of your sound card) adds momentum to their effects, and approximates the effects of ‘rotation’ used in laboratory studies. The 8 Coil Shakti uses two sound channels, the left and right stereo output from a computer sound device. The laboratory studies, sometimes called the “God Helmet Experiments”, used eight stereo channels. The equipment to replicate the “God helmet” costs more than the 8 Coil Shakti, and can be seen here. The 8 Coil Shakti is an affordable alternative that approximates, but does not duplicate, the “God Helmet”. Similar effects have been reported from both neural stimulation systems. Note: the “God Helmet” is not used for mood enhancement.
Eight coils, applied over both hemispheres, maximize your chances for a striking spiritual experience or mood enhancement using Shakti.
The coils can be applied to several places on the head, for a range of different effects. The 8 Coil Shakti has eight coils to make sure you can apply the signals to both sides of your head. This is a safety feature, and cannot be dispensed with. There are also sessions where the signals don’t alternate. These are designed for altered state experiences and mood enhancements, and are based on laboratory procedures.
The coils do not have indicator lights. The animation is only to demonstrate how The 8 Coil Shakti operates.
From a BBC report:
“How does Dr. Persinger artificially induce religious experiences in his patients”?
“Dr. Persinger has designed a helmet that produces a very weak rotating magnetic field of between ten nanotesla and one microtesla over the temporal lobes of the brain. This is placed on the subject’s head and they are placed in a quiet chamber while blindfolded. So that there is no risk of ‘suggestion’, the only information that the subjects are given is that they are going in for a relaxation experiment. Neither the subject nor the experimenter carrying out the test has any idea of the true purpose of the experiment. In addition to this, the experiment is also run with the field switched both off and on. This procedure Dr. Persinger claims will induce an experience in over 80% of test subjects.”
“For several years, Persinger has been using a technique called transcerebral magnetic stimulation to induce all sorts of surreal experiences in ordinary people (New Scientist, 19 November 1994, p 29). Through trial and error and a bit of educated guesswork, he’s found that a weak magnetic field–1 microtesla, which is roughly that generated by a computer monitor rotating anticlockwise in a complex pattern about the temporal lobes will cause four out of five people to feel a spectral presence in the room with them.”
The Koren Helmet (sometimes called the God Helmet) rotates the signals between coils. It’s a lab apparatus, and is not available to the public. There is a version of this technology available on this website. Click HERE. The 8 Coil Shakti works in a similar way, using the two stereo channels of your sound card.
The different signals shown here each have different effects, and each come from different areas of the brain.
They are produced using audio files that ‘play’ the signal to a set of magnetic coils. These coils produce magnetic signals. The signals switch between the two stereo channels. Some do so in a few seconds, and some do it in a fraction of a second.
Shakti uses signals derived from individual brain structures to elicit altered-state experiences, mood enhancements and improvements in spiritual practices, like meditation. Each signal in the Shakti Software ‘targets’ a specific brain part. These brain parts do different jobs, and that’s why the signals have different effects.
Most Shakti Signals come from EEG traces.
The “target” structures respond to these signals, and to a lesser extent, other structures closely connected to them. EEG (electroencephalography) reads electrical activity from the brain, and it’s ‘traces’ are the original source for most of the signals used in the Shakti Software.
Each brain is different, and there are many ways to use Shakti. Your experiences will depend on what you’re prone to, and the choices you make in using it.
This technology has also been an effective tool for meditation enhancement. Meditation can be improved when you do it ending about an hour after you finish a Shakti session. Interestingly, meditation during Shakti sessions doesn’t work as well as meditation in the days and hours after sessions. With the 8 Coil Shakti, you can activate your brain, one part at a time. If you like the state a particular session creates, you can repeat it (on schedule) often enough that your brain ‘learns’ to access the effects on its own. If you don’t like the effects of a particular session, don’t repeat it.
The same effect has been reported by people who are using other mind-machines after their Shakti sessions. Using other mind machines during Shakti sessions isn’t recommended. The 8 Coil Shakti can induce spiritual experiences and transformation for many people when used according to instructions. It’s also a powerful tool for consciousness exploration.
The 8 Coil Shakti represents a new generation of a technology developed at Laurentian University’s Behavioral Neurosciences Program, under the direction of Dr. Michael A. Persinger. In laboratory settings, this kind of technology had succeeded in inducing experiences that people call religious, spiritual, or mystical. This refers to deep states of relaxation as well as ‘visions’, enhancements in dreaming, mood elevations, and a whole range of ‘special’ experiences.
Not everyone is equally sensitive to this kind of mind-machine, but 15 years of working with people using Shakti has yielded observations that can help slow starters get going. Tech support is free.
HOW DOES THE 8 COIL SHAKTI WORK?
It creates altered states of consciousness by applying magnetic signals to your head.
Shakti (and its predecessors) rely on a simple idea: It “plays” EEG signals that were taken from precise places in the brain, back into it – as magnetic signals. This allows it to excite specific brain areas involved in religious experiences (such as the amygdala and the hippocampus). These structures turn out to be where blissful or visionary seizures begin in the epileptics who have them (they’re not common, but they do exist).
Besides these two signals, there several others including one that affects excitement and relaxation, and one that come from the ‘pleasure center’. Others are derived from frequencies or mixes of frequencies that appear when EEG signals are ‘averaged’. These EEG signals were converted into data files, and eventually into audio files, which play out through a sound card.
Instead of being played through speakers or headphones, they are ‘played’ through a set of magnetic coils, which produces magnetic signals instead of sounds.
The magnetic signals ‘match’ the electrical signals from the structures we work with. As a Shakti session proceeds, these structures become more and more active.
Most people begin to feel something subtle about 10 minutes into the session. That feeling becomes stronger half an hour into the session.
Sensory deprivation helps elicit effects during the session, including the kind that have been seen on so many TV documentaries about angels, UFOs, and Near-Death Experiences. These sessions went on for a full hour, though most Shakti users choose to do shorter sessions, which can be repeated more often.
People who are interested in mind machines, and want ‘theta wave’ effects will want to explore the hippocampus signal because the hippocampus is the main source of theta waves from within the brain.
A cap with Velcro (as shown) is provided with each 8 Coil Shakti System. L and R are for the left and right sound channels, not the sides of your head.
You don’t need sensory deprivation for sessions designed with lasting effects in mind. Sensory deprivation is crucial for some sessions. A large portion of the temporal lobe’s ongoing activity is devoted to monitoring ambient sounds. Silence is an important part of any sessions intended to create powerful experiences, but if you can’t manage silence, make the room as quiet as you can. Sessions done for meditation enhancement and the ‘feelgood‘ session don’t need sensory deprivation, but calm relaxed environments are best.
Above all, relax during your Shakti sessions. Expectation ‘tasks’ the frontal lobes, and their activation can make it harder to ‘go within’. Relax as much as you can (without falling asleep) during your Shakti sessions.
Unlike the smaller versions of Shakti, the 8 Coil Shakti alternates the signals between two pairs of coils. It’s more able to create the powerful effects demonstrated in television documentaries. It uses additional principles, which you can learn about here.
The 8 Coil Shakti can be used for altered states, but it can also be used for mood enhancement, though its not a treatment for psychiatric disorders. The “Feelgood” session has proved to be the most effective session for this kind of work. More.
This Shakti system was used on A & E network’s program Paranormal State (Episode Listing). CORRECTION: The A&E program mistakenly said the 8 coil Shakti used EMF emissions. It doesn’t. It’s a magnetic device (no EMF emissions). Read more about this.
