It was eventually replaced by the 8-Coil Shakti. However, the Shakti Helmet gathered considerable respect in it's field and was even the subject of a peer-reviewed scientific publication which reported robust EEG effects. This arrangement affects the frontal lobes, temporal lobes and parietal lobes - the three areas found to have the greatest potential for positive effects. The left side gets coils from the left stereo channel, and the right side gets coils from the right stereo channel. Each side gets one positive and two negative coils, with the positive coil above the ear, and the negative coils over the frontal and temporal lobes. Simultaneous stimulation of the left and right sides with different signals can elicit effects that neither signal alone could have created and that would not come when both signals are applied over the same areas together. Stereo signals (different in each channel - but not alternating signals) should be used with this arrangement.
