IMAGINATION TIME ! (The Fun Part)

THERE ARE TWO EXERCISES you should do, and both of them use the imagination.

You should do them in the right order.

Try to do them at night, too. (important)

If that's not convenient, PRINT THIS PAGE, take it home with you, make notes and return to this page later.

MAKE YOUR NOTES, NO MATTER HOW SPARSE, RIGHT AFTER YOU FINISH!

PLEASE ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS. Thanks.

Exercise Number one:

The OPEN SPACE MEDITATION.

First, make yourself comfortable. Darken the room. CLOSE YOUR EYES. Then, just sit and relax for a moment, and listen to the sound of your own breathing.

Then, while still holding a bit of awareness of your breathing, imagine that you are sitting on a spaceship. On one side of you is a wall, and on the other, there's a very large window, looking out onto empty space.

Try to imagine that feeling of space as much as you imagined what it might look like. Try to maintain that sensation, one side only, for a minute or two.

Next,

REPEAT THE EXERCISE, IMAGINING SPACE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE.

Which side was nicer for imagining the space?

Please Tell me what you experienced while you were doing it. Any thoughts, feelings, sensations, imagery, or anything at all.

Were you able to evoke a sense of space for yourself?

Exercise Number Two

THE SENSED PRESENCE EXERCISE.

First, make yourself comfortable. Darken the room. CLOSE YOUR EYES. Then, just sit and relax for a moment, and listen to the sound of your own breathing..

Then, while still holding a bit of awareness of your breathing, you imagine that someone is standing behind you, and over to one side. Just try to imagine a presence. DON'T try to guess who it might be, or anything else. Just, simply, imagine a presence.

You know that feeling, when you have a sense that someone is standing behind you, but when you turn to look, you find your self alone? THAT'S the feeling you imagine.

Imagine that presence in a place where you wouldn't be able to see them if your eyes were open, (keep them shut).

Then, do the same thing, but on the other side.

Which side was more pleasant for imagining a presence?

Please Tell me what you experienced while you were doing it. Any thoughts, feelings, sensations, imagery, or anything at all.

Were you able to evoke a sense of a presence for yourself?

When did you do the exercises?

Is there anything you think I should know about what you experienced?
